Overview
A radio for everyone in the family
A four pack of UH45 Max walkie talkies in blue, pink, yellow and lime. Each has 80 UHF CB channels, Kid-Zone Plus, a built-in LED torch and USB-C charging.
Four colours means each person has their own radio, and Kid-Zone Plus keeps the conversation within the family. They work where there's no mobile reception and run for up to 20+ hours on 3 x AAA batteries each. Need one more? The UH45-5 Max 5 Pack adds a grey radio.

Out and about
Talk where the phones drop out
The UH45 Max uses the 80 UHF CB channels, so it works at camp, on bush walks and at the beach without mobile reception. Uniden quotes a typical 3+km line-of-sight range, and duplex mode reaches further through a repeater.
- ✓No mobile reception needed
- ✓3+km typical range
- ✓Duplex repeater access
Kid-Zone Plus
Family only, strangers blocked
All four radios start with Kid-Zone Plus on. It locks them to CTCSS code 10 and voice Scramble 2, so they hear each other and other users on the channel are blocked out. Hold the torch key for the LED light in the top.
- ✓On by default
- ✓Voice scramble privacy
- ✓Built-in LED torch
Power and carry
AAA power with USB-C charging
Each radio takes 3 x AAA batteries for up to 20+ hours. Fit NiMH rechargeables and charge them with the four USB-C cables in the box. Every radio gets its own belt clip and lanyard.
- ✓4 USB-C cables included
- ✓4 belt clips and 4 lanyards
- ✓Batteries not included

Frequently asked questions
How far will they reach?
Uniden quotes a typical range of 3+km, line of sight. Hills, trees and buildings cut that down. In duplex mode the radios can talk through a UHF CB repeater for more distance, depending on where the repeater is and the terrain.
What batteries do they use?
Each radio takes 3 x AAA batteries, which are not included. Use standard alkaline or NiMH rechargeables. The USB-C cable only charges NiMH rechargeables, and you need a USB wall adaptor (not included). Charge new rechargeables for 6 to 7 hours before first use.
How does Kid-Zone Plus work?
Press the KID-Z key and the radio locks to CTCSS code 10 and voice Scramble 2. Radios set the same way hear each other, and other users on the channel are blocked out. It's on by default.
Will they talk to other UHF CB radios?
Yes, they use the standard 80 UHF CB channels. With Kid-Zone Plus on they only hear radios set to CTCSS 10 and Scramble 2, so turn Kid-Zone off to talk to other radios, such as a Uniden UH755 handheld, on an open channel.
Are they waterproof?
No. Uniden says not to expose the UH45 Max to rain or moisture.
