Overview
QC 3.0 + USB-C PD fast charge socket
One USB-A and one USB-C port in a single compact socket, both with fast charging. The USB-A port supports Quick Charge 3.0 for Android phones, and the USB-C port speaks USB Power Delivery and the other common fast-charge protocols, so a modern iPhone, Samsung or Pixel charges at speed from your 12V system. Ideal for the dash, centre console, camper trailer, caravan or battery box.

The socket talks to each device and picks the fastest charge it supports: USB PD for iPhones, iPads and most USB-C phones, QC 3.0 for many Android phones, FCP for Huawei and AFC for Samsung. Older devices charge at standard 5V.
On a 12V system the socket delivers up to 36 W in total; on 24V it delivers up to 45 W. To charge a laptop at full speed, choose our 65 W TVDSU5 or 100 W TVDSU6.
Tested for vehicle life
Every socket in our range is built to the same factory test standard, so it holds up to dust, damp and corrugations, not just a clean office desk:
- ✓Low contact resistance (under 100 mΩ): less power lost as heat in the port, so more reaches your device
- ✓Firm plug grip: plugs push in with under 1,000 gf and need up to 1,500 gf to pull out, so a cable stays put on rough tracks
- ✓Salt spray tested: 8 hours minimum in 5% salt fog, for boats, beach trips and coastal caravans
- ✓Impact rated to 8 kgf: takes a knock from a boot, bag or esky lid
- ✓Hinged weather cap: keeps dust and water out of the ports when not in use
- ✓Rated -25°C to +85°C: handles a hot dashboard in summer and frosty mornings in the high country
Fitting
- ✓Hole size: cut a round hole of at least 29.2 mm (a 30 mm hole saw works) in any panel, dash, battery box or canopy wall
- ✓Space behind the panel: allow about 45 mm for the body and terminals, plus room for the wires
- ✓Mounting: push the socket through from the front and tighten the threaded retaining nut from behind
- ✓Wiring: push-on spade terminals marked + and −. Run the positive through an inline fuse close to the battery
- ✓Suggested fuse: 5A on the positive feed
- ✓Terminals: push-on spade terminals, 10 mm apart
USB sockets draw a small current even with nothing plugged in. If the vehicle will sit for weeks, wire the socket through a switch or turn off the battery isolator.
